Gallery Representation Question
I hope it's ok to ask this here - I am looking for advice. I have representation with a brand new gallery in a great area - they opened in January 2026. They are offering me a show in Feb 2027 - it would involve my sending work to fill 110 linear feet. I have never done a show like this in the past. I am looking at it practically - what my cost would be to create and deliver (10-15) 36x48 or larger paintings. What other things should I be thinking about - is there precedent to ask for shared ship costs or something along that nature? I should also add that they have yet to sell anything of mine, so I also feel that the jury could still be out on whether my art is a good fit for them - but then again, it could also be that they are growing/getting started. I welcome your tips/advice on how to measure if this is a good opportunity. Thanks!
