Choose one simple dish:

Step 1:
Taste carefully. Take a bite and describe the flavor using at least 3 descriptive words from your Flavor Wheel.
Example:“Rich, buttery, slightly salty.”
Step 2:
Identify the Dominant Flavor. What stands out most?
• Salty

• Umami
• Spicy
• Rich
• Herbally
Step 3: Identify What May Be Missing
Ask yourself:
• Does it need brightness?
• More depth?
• Freshness?
• Richness?
• Heat?
Step 4: Make ONE Adjustment
Choose one ingredient to help balance the dish.
