Day 11: shadow & highlights

When we draw a lemon, we don’t just color it yellow, we make it look REAL by adding light and shadow! 🍋

First, color your lemon yellow. Then, think about where your light is coming from. The side closer to the light will be brighter, so we use white to add a shiny highlight.

On the opposite side (the side away from the light), we add a little purple. Purple is the opposite (complement) of yellow, and when we lightly layer it on top, it makes a beautiful shadow.

Light + shadow = a lemon that looks round and 3D! ✨
