There’s a whisper in the veins, a siren’s call, A craving that rises, a hunger enthralled. It dances like fire, fierce and untamed, A love wrapped in chains, yet never ashamed. Oh, the rush, the velvet thrill, The world dissolves, the mind stands still. Fingertips tracing the edge of delight, Chasing the sun through the longest night. It builds you up, it pulls you in, A kiss on the lips laced with sin. A promise of comfort, a lover’s embrace, A fleeting escape, a fall full of grace. Yet beauty is cruel, it comes at a cost, A shimmering dream that leaves you lost. A siren sings, but the sea runs deep, And love like this will never keep. For even the most golden chain still binds, And beauty that blinds will silence the mind. So chase the thrill, but know the toll, Addiction whispers, but it steals the soul. By Jason Strickland
