Uber Eats just changed the game for California delivery drivers. A new Uber Eats Pro tier system is rolling out with Green, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond levels—and your acceptance rate, on-time rate, cancellation rate, satisfaction rating, and points can now affect your status. But the bigger story is what these tiers could mean for drivers who have traditionally relied on cherry-picking. In this video, I break down the new system and give my perspective after 8 years and more than 25,000 food deliveries. We talk about Preferred Deliveries, acceptance-rate requirements, scheduling and going online, the psychology behind tier systems, opportunity cost, and whether maintaining Platinum or Diamond could actually make you more money—or simply convince you to accept orders you normally wouldn't. The decline button isn't disappearing. What that decline costs you might be changing. Once the new system rolls out, I'll be testing it in the real world to compare cherry-picking at lower tiers versus maintaining a higher acceptance rate and chasing Platinum/Diamond. We'll look at dollars per hour, dollars per mile, order quality, downtime, mileage, and whether the higher tiers are actually worth it. Subscribe if you want to see the results. What strategy are you going to use: cherry-pick and stay Green, or play the tier game and go for Platinum/Diamond? #UberEats #UberEatsDriver #FoodDelivery #GigEconomy #DeliveryDriver #California #DoorDash #CrankHustle
