I started this project with thrift shopping for knitted sweaters. Then, I used a yarn winder to undo and spin each panel of a sweater. Finally, the most mindful part of the experience was to free hand crochet this pair. Honestly, I had to frog a few rows a couple of times to get the design and sizing just right. Both pieces used less than half of the skeins wound from a thrifted $8 sweater! My next step is to start writing and drawing the pattern for this quick, simple, and cozy crafted cadence crochet loungewear set:)

I started to crochet in 2021 because I needed a new hobby that kept my hands busy, uses creativity, and provides a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. I’ve tried many different ways to crochet and projects to work on, but my favourite method is to freestyle crochet wearables. Over the years, I’ve gained a lot of practice, experience, and new learning to make custom clothing with a size-to-fit design.
