I have to confess, I envy many of you for living on continents where you can meet fellow authors in person and attend events without crossing oceans or spending a small fortune. For me, the hardest part is the loneliness of being an English-writing author in a country that does not read in English.
I tried traditional publishing here; it earned me enough for a daily coffee and a lot of frustration from having no control. I tried FB ads for one month, got terrified I would lose money, and went back into my writing cave to focus on building a longer series before my next attempt.
My plan is to start again in February, ready or not.
And just to add something funny: I play the lottery every week, and in all my “if I win” daydreams, being able to comfortably pay for ads is a big joy. Not even a million would stop me from writing, publishing, and reaching as many readers as my marketing skills can bring in.
So it is really nice to meet a community like this, and thank you for giving me the little “push” I needed to finally write a post.
