But the feelings, your precise sequence of emotions, your specific memories, the private joys and aches that no other arrangement has ever held in exactly the exact same way. That is brand new, A first (and only) occurrence in the history of everything. What if that is the whole quiet purpose? Not to achieve, not to leave a monument, not even to “ascend” in some final way - but simply *to live* to be the first place where *this exact feeling* gets to exist for a little while. And when the body returns to soil and the atoms scatter again, perhaps that unique emotional imprint doesn’t vanish.
