As someone who has worked in Geriatric Care doing salon services for 5+ years, I feel the need to share my knowledge. I have found that many stylists are not well equipped to deal with some of the unique situations that come with working in care centers, assisted living, or seniors in general. My hope is to inform the cosmetologists/stylists/nail technicians that have a passion for helping our seniors to feel their best. It comes with many challenges, but more than that, it comes with great joy, pride, and relationships with the people you serve. I hope this information encourages you to step into a new aspect of your career, that is beneficial for not only your clients and their families, but for yourself as well. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you've made a difference in the last stage of someone's life, and helped them have a little more comfort and care in their last years.
