5 Retention Strategies to win the 2025 Skool Games
The Skool Games is now a 3-month challenge where retention decides the winners. Communities are now forced to figure out the retention game.
Don't worry too long though.
Here's five proven strategies I used, that helped my client increase their LTV by 22% in just 30 days after 5 months of decline (P.S: he's now top 3 on a niche leaderboard) 😮‍💨
1. Add Actionable Tasks
If members only consume content without applying it, they’ll churn. Include action tasks with lessons to give members tangible steps to implement what they’ve learned.
Pro Tip: Make tasks balanced—not too easy or hard—to encourage consistent participation and better results.
2. Use Time-Based Gamification
Skip level unlocks, which lead to shallow participation. Instead, use time-based unlocks to release content monthly. This keeps members engaged and excited to stay.
3. Onboarding Calls Build Trust
Personalized onboarding calls is key to setting the tone for long-term engagement.
Options:
• Small Communities: Offer 1:1 calls.
• Larger Communities: Host group calls with 5-10 members.
4. Incentives to Save Canceling Members
Reach out to canceling members 2-3 days before they leave and offer an incentive to stay.
Examples:
1. Exclusive Events like group coaching.
2. Gifts like premium resources.
3. Services like Personalized 1:1 Loom Audits.
5. Feedback From Canceling Members
Invite canceling members to monthly feedback sessions. Their insights can help you improve and sometimes even win them back with tailored solutions.
For a detailed breakdown of these strategies, I made a YT video. Click the thumbnail below to watch.
Enjoy 🙂
