Hi everyone, I wanted to drop a quick shooting footwork breakdown. Something I've noticed with many young players is how they struggle to get their shot off quickly or lack a fluid mid range pull up. Here's a quick break down of both the '1-2 step' & the 'hop step' footwork into your shot.
Some players like the 'hop' & some prefer '1-2 step'. I would say the hop step is more common long distance shooting & girls basketball. The 1-2 step is your traditional footwork for shooting. I like both & I teach both depending on the situation to get your shot of quickly & smoothly.
This is so important & it amazes how even many talented HS & College players still struggle with this footwork. So get this down!
Be sure to check out the "Classroom" for more drills inside the "DRILL LIBRARY".
