👋 Welcome to Point Guard Transformation! Start Here
First, thank you for joining! I'm Coach Phillip Morrison — former College All-American & professional point guard, and many of you may know me as Basketball Missionary. My goal with this community is simple: 🏀 Help you handle pressure, play fearless & become the player your coach TRUSTS. We're going to develop more than basketball skills. We're going to work on your confidence, decision-making, basketball IQ, leadership, identity and ability to become a true floor general. But don't get overwhelmed by everything inside the community. 🚀 START WITH THESE 3 THINGS: 1️⃣ INTRODUCE YOURSELF + YOUR GOAL 👋 Introduce yourself in the comments below OR create your own post. Tell us: 🏀 Your name + grade (if player) 📍 Where you're from 🐐 Favorite point guard (Mine is Steve Nash!) 🎯 Your #1 goal over the next 90 days Parents and coaches — introduce yourself too if you're here to learn Encourage other players. Ask questions. Share wins. Let us know when you're struggling. 2️⃣ START THE POINT GUARD TRANSFORMATION 🏀 Go to the Classroom and begin: MONTH 1: HANDLING DEFENSIVE PRESSURE This is where I want EVERY new player to start. We're going to help you become more confident when defenders: 🔥 Pick you up full court 🔥 Crowd or Trap you 🔥 Speed you up 🔥 Get physical 🔥 Force you into uncomfortable situations The goal isn't simply to improve your handle. It's to learn how to HANDLE PRESSURE. We'll combine skill development, confidence, pace, decision-making and game understanding so you can stop panicking and start playing with control. Start with Lesson 1 and follow the program in order. 3️⃣ CHECK THE CALENDAR & UPCOMING LIVE CALLS OR REPLAYS 📅 Go to the Calendar tab and see what's coming up. You'll find: 🎥 Live Community Calls 🧠 Confidence & Leadership Workshops 🎬 Masterclasses & Film Breakdowns 🏀 Point Guard Classroom Sessions 🎤 Special Guests + Q&A Come LIVE whenever possible. Watch the Replays if you miss. Ask questions. Participate. Let me coach you. If you can't make a call, we'll have replays available inside the Classroom.

LESSONS I LEARNED FROM NBA PLAYERS & COACHES THIS SUMMER
LIVE COMMUNITY ZOOM CALL — THIS SATURDAY @ 12:00 PM EST Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82085154762 This summer gave me some unique opportunities to train alongside, work with and learn from NBA players and coaches while traveling, training and working camps. I was around guys like Derrick White, AJ Lawson, Greg Oden, NBA coaches and other high-level basketball minds and I was paying attention. Not just to what they do on the court, but how they think, work, prepare, communicate and carry themselves off the court. I also had some very powerful conversations & ministry moments with these guys as well. This Saturday on our Community Call I'm going to unpack some of the biggest lessons I took away from those experiences. We’ll talk about things like how NBA players actually train, what separates elite players, the journey, attacking weaknesses instead of hiding them, the details NBA coaches pay attention to, how NBA coaches run training with purpose instead of just working hard, character and coachability, and what parents can learn from being around the highest levels of the game. I think this call will be packed with valuable info & lessons whether you're a PLAYER, PARENT or COACH. Some of these lessons reinforced things I've believed for years. Others challenged the way I think about player development. And a few were things you simply don't understand until you're in the gym watching how the highest-level players and coaches operate. Come ready to take notes and bring your questions. I'll leave time at the end for LIVE Q&A as well. See you Saturday! -Coach Phillip Basketball Missionary & Your Point Guard Coach 9/12, Saturday - 12:00 PM EST 🎥 LIVE on Zoom + Replay will be posted inside the community ZOOM LINK: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82085154762

@Lexis Nicdao What’s the biggest challenge with your shot right now? Consistency under pressure, footwork, or follow-through?

@Crystal Domingo I agree its tough to develop. I've found 2 ways that really help depending on how players retain or absorb information... Film & CLA training. Watching full games or film breakdowns help alot. Also Constraint Led Approach really forces players to play smart, think, read, react. A good example to begin with is simple 3v3 with constraints like 2 dribble limit, or must make 3 passes before a shot, or run a Pick n Roll action before a shot. Hope this helps!
