Got an Interview Coming Up? Here's How to Handle Any Question They Throw At You!
If you've got a video interview coming up, whether it's for a podcast, a media appearance, or someone filming content about your business, one of the biggest sources of nerves is simple: not knowing exactly what you're going to be asked. Here's how to walk in prepared, without sounding scripted! 1. Ask for the questions ahead of time, but don't script your answers. Most interviewers are completely happy to share their questions in advance if you ask. Do this. But here's the important part: don't write out or memorise your answers word for word. Memorising kills authenticity fast, you end up reciting instead of communicating, and it shows. Instead, just familiarise yourself with the questions and jot down your key points, the two or three things you actually want to land for each one. Then let the actual wording come out naturally when you're there. You already know this stuff. Trust that. 2. Know what to say when you get a question you shouldn't answer This happens more than people expect. Someone asks you something slightly off-topic, outside your expertise, or just not something you want to weigh in on. You are allowed to redirect. You don't owe anyone a full answer to every question they ask. The simplest version is just: "I'm not the right person to answer that." But here's where a bridging phrase makes it even stronger, because you can use it to steer the interview back to where you actually want it to go: "I'm not the right person to answer that, but what I can tell you is..." That one phrase does two jobs at once. It closes the door on the question you don't want, and it opens the door to the point you'd rather make. You stay in control of the conversation without ever seeming evasive. A few more bridging phrases to have in your back pocket for exactly this situation: - "That's a bit outside my area, but what I can speak to is..." - "I'll leave that one to the experts, but from my side..." - "Good question, though what's more relevant to what we're talking about is..." - "I can't speak to that directly, but here's what I do know..." - "That's not really my focus, but something related that might help is..."

Welcome to Confident On Camera!
Hello everyone, and welcome! I'm Josie, and I'm so glad you're here. If you've made it this far, chances are being on camera doesn't come easily to you yet, and I want you to know that's completely normal. It's not a flaw. It's just a mode you haven't learned to switch out of yet. The Confident On Camera Method course is built from everything I've learned on both sides of the lens. I spent my early twenties performing on stages and live TV in a pop-duo, and the last decade behind the camera, producing and coaching hundreds of people on camera. What you're about to work through is the same method I use with every client I coach. A few things before you dive in. Work through the six pillars in order if you're not sure where to start, or jump to whichever one matches exactly where you're feeling stuck right now. Be honest in the exercises, they only work if you actually do them, not just watch them. And go easy on yourself. This is built by doing, not by getting it right the first time! I'd love to know why you're here. Drop a comment below and tell me what's bringing you to this course, whether it's a specific video you need to film, a fear you're ready to move past, or just curiosity about whether this could actually work for you. Let's get started! Josie :)
