Capital One FICO® Score is coming to CreditWise
We’ll be updating all CreditWise accounts to show users their FICO Score 8 instead of their VantageScore® 3.0. This update is free and won’t cause a hard inquiry. Keep an eye out for an email confirming the update in the next couple of weeks.
Why FICO?
FICO is the industry leader in credit scoring, and 90% of today’s top lenders use FICO Scores. We’re beyond excited to bring this update to your account and appreciate your patience as it rolls out.
CreditWise from Capital One uses TransUnion data to generate the FICO Score 8. This means the FICO Score 8 you see in CreditWise is based on the information from your TransUnion credit report. CreditWise also tracks changes to your Experian and TransUnion credit reports, providing alerts for important changes. However, the FICO Score 8 itself is specifically derived from the TransUnion file. 💯
