Service:
AST SpaceMobile:
- Focuses on providing direct-to-smartphone cellular connectivity from space
- Aims to connect unmodified mobile devices without the need for special equipment
- Partners with existing mobile network operators like AT&T, Verizon, and Vodafone
Starlink:
- Primarily offers satellite internet services to fixed locations
- Requires special equipment (satellite dish) for connectivity
- Has begun developing direct-to-cell capabilities, but this is not its main focus
