I’m Ian Harris, founder of Agency Hackers – a community business I started in 2017.
The reason I started Community Cartel is because running a community business can be surprisingly lonely! From the outside it looks exciting. Behind the scenes it’s sponsors, pricing experiments, engagement dips, churn, growth plateaus and constant decisions about where to focus next.
There wasn’t a space where I could openly compare notes with other founders building membership, events and audience-led businesses.
So I created one!
Community Cartel is a private peer group for people generating revenue through community. We talk honestly about monetisation, sponsors, acquisition, retention and the systems that make this model sustainable.
Here's the membership criteria:
- You must run a paid community or an events business.
- Ideally, you've already started.
- You understand we are not here to give you paid consultancy month. It's a community. We all have our own businesses to run.
