Greetings from Belgium
Getting in the game a bit later as a 35 year old. Been diving for since 2020 and got my divemaster, left my job back than to pursue a carreer in the military as a clearance diver.
Until last april I was in training, completed everything except for the last part of closed circuit rebreathing. This because my wife had a big opportunity in Spain that forced us to move on short notice and forced me to cut my training short just before the end. (This because I otherwise would have a ROI-period that would prohibit me from leaving the Navy)
Got basic 4 week hands on training with the kirby morgan together with some welding/burning/working underwater.
Now I still really love my job but a military certificate is not valid in the civilian world so will follow the course in Barcelona in Spanish. Which will most likely be a lot of reviewing but still it is in Spanish so I’m currently fully invested in mastering the language.
Found this board through the school Oceanos-EBP I’m applying and thought it would be a good investment to get into the commercial world.
Hope to learn a lot and widen my views on the trade.
Hoping to work in the shipping business because that is what I know. But open to all the options that are available. As a Belgian I speak a lot of languages (Dutch/French/German/and working on Spanish) and hope to use that to my advantage.
