Moth visitor

Tonight this kind of big moth was sitting at my front door. I checked to see if it’s alive and it sort of moved but not much. My next thought was check the wings and it even let me lift one of its wings out and didn’t fly away. I thought clearly it would fly away after that but nope. I was worried about it so I captured it in two paper bowls and brought it inside but now I don’t know what to do with it. I realized I don’t know how to rehab a moth and now it’s just sitting in a bowl box thing with holes. Do I just let it go back outside? I’ve never experienced this before and I’m wondering if there’s any significance to it.
