Query - How to answer a common application question?

A lot of companies ask the question "Why are you interested in working with <Company Name>?" and they make it compulsory more often than not.

I wanted to know if there is a particular way that this question has to be answered in?

Also in case the question is optional, is it still recommended to answer it anyway?

In all honesty, I don't really care about what the company does or works on. As of now for any application with this question, I am forced to conjure up something using AI (I do enhance the response such that it is NOT obvious that an AI generated it).
