Job Scout - Free to Own & Operate

Creating a career coach prompt and feeding it into the latest, greatest LLM is a great way to ride the wave of frontier technology. Simply prompting a LLM to generate a career coach prompt for X model will surprise you when you attach your CV and background.

Fable 5 was the next to help me bring this project to the public. I even used it as a career coach and it really does add perspectives.

I used an earlier version of the Job Scout to find my current job, and this project fundamentally shifted how I approach my "day job".

Technical Breakdown:

Job Scout is a project that takes your CV, scrapes job boards for high signal fits and then outputs a list that you would have a high likelihood to interview and land.

At its core, it's a local server you spin up that deploys two scripts.

1) Job Scout - UI that you can drop your CV into and filter the jobs you'd like.

2) Job Spy - The script that pulls from job boards without any login.

Everything private, powered by deterministic scripts that you sculpt using your agentic harness. There is no AI in it natively, you have to import it with your Codex/Claude/Hermes/OpenClaw/Antigravity/Cursor (any Ai coding workspace) and keep prompting your way into a functioning Job Scout.

This is not a mass-ready product. It's the skeleton, you have to put flesh and muscle on it for it to work.

It's free to use, own, and operate, and is how I found the job I currently have.

To use, follow the instructions in Github or just paste the link, ask the agent to analyze and set it up so it works securely for you.

Context:

I finally crossed the MIT License eligibility for this project. I first built this for myself back in 2024, and using it has fundamentally changed how I approach work.

A host ecosystem is an individual organism viewed as a whole “environment” that other organisms live in and interact with.

In biology and ecology, the host (e.g., a human, plant, or animal) isn’t just a single entity but a complex ecosystem made up of:

The host’s own cells and tissues
Its microbiome (bacteria, fungi, viruses, archaea)
Parasites, commensals, and mutualists
Immune system components and chemical environment

All of these interact with each other inside that host the way species interact in a forest or lake.

For yourself, as an existential being, you have an ecosystem that nurtures your goals and ambitions.

Everything you aim to do to better yourself is either supported or neglected by your day to day environment. Anything untouched is entropy, it decays by itself with time.

Your work should support your goals. If your current one doesn't, you have X amount of years on Earth left, it's up to you what % of that you'd like to spend without experiencing operational ownership of your wealth generation.

That being said, the uphill battle is real. I first built this Job Scout back in 2024, and I never used it. After being assigned 3 ESL classes I couldn't help in private school teaching, I ran this Job Scout daily, 2-3x a day. Within two weeks, I had a job offer for more money and more freedom.

However, fast forward 6 months, I'm navigating management toxicity and lack of interest in appeasing old people for the sake of it (I can't do another 2 hour meeting on PowerPoint semantics).

Regardless, I'm once again running it daily 2-3x a day.

Fundamentally, in revisiting this Job Scout, community is one antidote to walls and ceilings, that's how network works.

However, the majority of people (including myself) may not have access to that exact network of people in immediate vicinity. I can't necessarily call someone and get new paid work. Some would call this a powerless perspective.

True power is access to capabilities and tools, as well as the wisdom and courage to pursue betterment with what you can.

Every iteration of this Job Scout stands on the belief that more is possible, my hope in passing this to you is that you can create a host ecosystem to support yourself into echelons you haven't had the vehicle to imagine yet!
