I can't multi-task with the CKM
Family left early yesterday, so I decided to use those 45 minutes and just relax on the deck with a Mango/Strawberry frozen daiquiri. After a quick dinner of cheddar cheese and crackers with another drink, I decided to start knitting again. It was now 5:30 PM and I would have time to finish the last 4 tubes of the blanket. Shortly after completing the waste yarn, I received a phone call from my brother. We had been playing phone tag for the last couple of days, so I decided to answer. As we talk, I asked if the sound from the machine bothered him, he said no, so I continued. Then I said UH OH! He asked what happened, and I said I'm past the black pins on the machine so that means instead of changing colors when I should have, I'll now have 16 rows instead of 15. He asked did it really matter, I said yes! I didn't use the term frogging with him, but said no problem, I'm not that far so I quickly pulled it out. Once I restarted, I was on a roll. After our 45 (seems to be a special number for me) minute conversation I thought things were going smoothly, until I saw I was at row 165 and was getting ready to change to what should have been my last color, YELLOW! Looking at my cheat sheet, I said that means you'll be ending at row 180, that's not going to work. I decided to then finish off with the white and said to myself, oh well, you'll just make another loop scarf. Well, I didn't even get that right, I added waste yarn when I should have just cast off. I put the tube next to the others, so see if the mistake would be noticeable. At first, I didn't see the error, but when I did, I said that's definitely not going to work. Last picture shows I didn't knit enough white rows. That's the only problem I have had with rolling my tubes up. the colors get lost and I can't do a visual check to see that I have knitted enough rows. Lesson learned was 1) I can't drink and knit (since this happened at the 50th row, I must have thought I saw 60) and 2) I can't talk and knit. In any event, I was finished knitting for the night. I still have time to finish the last 4 tubes before @Deborah Lewis Addi Day on Saturday. (in the last pic you can really see where I missed knitting enough white rows)

I found weights
I was shopping at the local dollar store and stumbled upon these weights to hold down a table cloth on a picnic table. I intend to use them with my knitting machine, particularly when trying to use a difficult yarn. They would probably work great for a Caydo when making iChord. Take a look around you may find something similar where you are.

Child Leash Harnesses
When I first heard of child leashes, I said no way. Why can’t they just hold hands? Then several years later, I saw them used at a Day Care Center and said what a bright idea. I have my first solo outing with the Grands on Thursday. We’ll go out to breakfast at Wendy’s then to a nearby library for a Reading program. Not telling the grands wherebb we’re going because the program is re dinosaurs that they truly love. We’ll be out for 3 hours tops and both places have a parking lot with designated spaces for handicap parking. I’m tempted to use the iCord and make some sort of leash real quick. What are your thoughts?
