Wraps per inch: WPI
You have a ball of yarn but you don't have a label and you have need to know the size of your fiber. Here is a way to find it called WPI (Wraps per inch). You take a ruler and your fiber and on 1 inch you wrap your wool by counting the rounds around the ruler. Here is the attached charter to know the size of wool according to the turns on the ruler. It's not an exact science, but it will help you.
Example on this rule (photo) you did 19 turns, the fiber is size 1 (fingering).
