The verse of the day on the YouVersion Bible App was Matthew 6:21 NIV For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The question was asked: "Where is your treasure?" That is really something to think about. Is there anything we are placing before God or have not given Him total control of? I have been guilty of doing many things in my own strength and not fully surrendering to God. After reading today's verse and listening to the Guided Scripture, I began to reflect. This scripture came to mind that has been showing up a lot: Jeremiah 29:13 NIV You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Have I truly been seeking God with all my heart? Not as much as I should. We are all a work in progress and should pause and check our heart. Take some time over the next few days to do this. Here are two other scriptures to reflect: Psalms 139:23-24 NIV Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Proverbs 4:23 NIV Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Our heart is one of our major organs that God cares deeply about. Create in us a clean heart.
