Hi, I am an old geezer struggling with certain aspects of chess. But, since I've been told one is never to old to learn, I wish to try to get better at chess. I am worst at openings, even though I know the basic principles: get a hold on the center, develop pieces, secure the King. I believe once I master the opening, I will come out better in games, be them OTB or online.

This is just my first post, but I'm very curious how many people are active here in the community? Do you sometimes play one another? Anyway, I've been playing chess for 40 years, but never looked into levels or getting serious. I did teach the mother of my daughter how to play and she could eventually beat me one game out of three. Thanks, Ravi
