🔧 How to Properly Seal a Threaded Connection
When sealing threaded connections, preparing the thread is crucial. 👉 The thread must be lightly scratched/roughened first (using a saw blade, file, or knife). Why? Because otherwise PTFE string (thread seal) or hemp can slip out of the threads while tightening. Correct procedure: 1️⃣ Lightly scratch the thread (don’t damage it, just create grip) 2️⃣ Wrap the PTFE string or hemp in the direction of the thread 3️⃣ Add sealing paste if needed 4️⃣ Tighten the connection – not too much ✅ The sealing material stays in place ✅ The connection is tight and long-lasting ❌ No leaks, no unnecessary repairs
