Why does it cost so much?
Here in the Uk we have seen an increase in alcohol duty last month and suddenly, consumers are annoyed yet reticent. I hear comments like "everythings going up - nothing seems to come down" and "there is no pleasure in anything now". It is true that this particular increase is due to the governments health policies - reducing the number of alcohol related conditions that burden our health system by increasing the tax. My advice - bulk buy when your favourite is on offer and buy better - look at Matthew Clarks pictorial representation below from last year - a few pounds extra really does give so much better quality of wine - its double from £7.50 to £10 and triple from £10 to £20!
