Start Here 🚀
Hello everyone! Welcome to the Connected Educators Community. This is a place for like-minded educators to learn, grow, and connect with others. Here are a few steps to feel more at home: 1. Introduce yourself in the Introductions Tab. You can say who you are, what you teach, something you're interested in, and something you'd love to learn more about. Also include a picture! It can be of you, your workspace, your pets, or anything you'd like. 2. Schedule a Connection Call with Joey to learn more about how support works in our community, get your questions answered, and help Joey connect you with others. You can sign up by clicking here. 3. Check out upcoming events and plan on attending them. They happen every 2 weeks on Thursdays. 4. Share this with any other educators you think would be interested! Here's how the live events work: - They occur every 2 weeks on a 2-month rotation. - You get access to them by joining the Connected Educator's Membership, which also hosts the recordings. - Event 1: Q&A with Chris. You can bring any question about behavior, classroom management, or anything else that you can't find on your own. - Event 2: Guest Speaker. Wisdom from another fantastic educator. - Event 3: Live Podcast Recording with Joey & Chris. This is where we discuss topics in education inspired by the community; it also includes a live Q&A for participants. - Event 4: Another Guest Speaker. - Then it repeats again! There's only one value: be kind to others.

Welcome to the Connected Educators Community!
Hi, everyone! I am Dr. Joseph Weisler (or simply "Joey"), and I am honored to be your community's co-founder, alongside my dear friend, Chris Mukiibi. I am currently a university educator for English, composition, literature, business writing, and public speaking, along with the host of the "Classroom Narratives" podcast. I am also the creative producer behind "The Throne in the Classroom". In my classroom, I strive to help students find voice, build agency, and translate lived experience into meaningful academic and creative work. Like many teachers, I once believed caring meant carrying. I poured everything I had into my students until I realized I was carrying their struggles instead of simply caring for them—and it was costing me the joy I once found in teaching. The approaches I discovered through designing boundaries didn't make me care less. They helped me care better. They helped me reconnect with why I became an educator in the first place. Chris and I created this community because we believe teachers deserve a place to grow, reflect, ask honest questions, and support one another. I'm grateful you're here, and I can't wait to learn alongside you. Check out my website, josephweisler.com, and know how excited I am to interact with each of you! As I say to my students every day, "thank you for choosing to be a part of our community." 🙂

What will we accomplish on a call together?
As part of your welcome to the "Connected Educators Community" (CEC), I would love an opportunity to chat for 10-15 minutes with each and all members. One of my most important roles as the co-founder of the "*Connected* Educators Community" is to *connect* members! I'll let you in on a secret about why I love being in education...it's because it's a human-centered profession that cannot be done alone. This is coming from someone who is an introvert at heart. And it's the ability for us to *build bridges* with one another that can help us find solutions to our current system. Give me ten minutes to learn about you, and I will attempt to bridge you with other humans who have a similar focus. Interested in protecting boundaries to prevent burnout? I have folks for you to share your ideas with. Finding joy in the profession? I have people. Working with students with disabilities? I have people. Building partnerships with parents? Check. Navigating leadership? We got 'em. ...and *so many more*. On my first day of grad school, our professor asked us, "if you walked into a large conference hall, which conversations would you want to be a part of?" Consider CEC the "large conference room." Now as part of our call, let's narrow it down to find your exact people together, and get you *Connected* in the "Connected Educators Community" with educators who match your speciality and interests! I will personally create individualized introductions between members, as this community is all about synergy. Book your "CEC welcome chat" here: https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/bookwithuscareercoach-ca845847-6f6f-4e80-96f5-e30688508f06oldn6a All members (including free members) have the opportunity to enjoy our space for independent networking. Become a premium member ($10/mo or $100/yr) to enjoy access to our real-time virtual meetups and exclusive resources created by Chris and Joey!

Join us THIS THURSDAY! For our first community keynote: ❤️ Teaching with HEART and SOUL
This Thursday, the Connected Educators Community is proud to welcome our co-founder, Dr. Joey Weisler, as our inaugural keynote speaker for: *Building Classrooms of Awareness Through the HEART and SOUL* Educators are being asked to do more than teach content. Build relationships. Maintain rigor. Respond to increasingly complex student needs. Keep students engaged. Create belonging. And somehow, do all of it without losing themselves in the process. HEART and SOUL is about finding another way. Through an interactive, practical experience, Dr. Weisler will explore how small, intentional shifts in the classroom can help educators create spaces where students feel seen, safe, and willing to engage—without asking teachers to become therapists, counselors, or anything else they were never trained to be. Educators will walk away with: ❤️ 3–5 strategies they can implement immediately ❤️ Tools for moving students from compliance toward meaningful engagement ❤️ A clearer distinction between supporting students and absorbing their emotional weight ❤️ Flexible structures that create predictability without rigidity ❤️ Greater confidence to hold the room without carrying the room home The transformation? From managing students → to inviting them in. From carrying everything → to caring with boundaries. From adding more to teachers’ plates → to designing what already happens differently. From “How do I get them to care?” → to creating the conditions that give them a reason to. Because sustainable classrooms should work for the human beings learning in them AND the human beings leading them. This Thursday, we begin. ❤️ Connected Educators Community Connect. Learn. Grow. Together. #ConnectedEducatorsCommunity #TeachingWithHEART #TeacherWellbeing #StudentEngagement #ProfessionalLearning #EducatorCommunity #Teaching #Education YOUR
