The passage opens into an enormous underground chamber.
The source of the green glow quickly becomes apparent.
At the centre of the room, a gigantic mechanical hand made of greenish metal emerges from the floor.
With immense care and precision, the hand sorts tiny pieces of gravel into two neat piles.
One pile looks somewhat larger than the other.
The machinery beneath the chamber floor groans and clicks rhythmically as the hand continues its work.
Occasionally, the hand rejects a single piece of gravel and flicks it away into the darkness.
At the far end of the chamber stands a small wooden hut with warm light visible beneath the door.
