You descend the stone steps for what feels like a very long time.
The air grows colder, the further down you go.
Eventually, the staircase ends at a narrow V-shaped junction.
One passage slopes away towards the northwest.
The other disappears into darkness towards the southwest.
The stone walls here are covered with chalk writing left by previous visitors.
Among the messages, you notice:
THE LEFT PATH REMEMBERS THINGS
DO NOT TRUST THE CARPET MAN
I REGRET THE EGG COMPLETELY
A small piece of white chalk rests on a ledge nearby.
Choices:
- Take the northwest passage
- Take the southwest passage
- Return east to the circular entrance chamber
- Write a cryptic message - perhaps a dire warning - on the wall in chalk (reply in the comments)
