AI as a coach & counsellor?
Last Saturday morning I asked AI my first 'spiritual' question. Long overdue perhaps given my life-long fascination about what makes people tick, and the 'meaning of life'. Perhaps it was my snobbery and judgement about the technology, dismissing it as 'beneath us'? Anyway, listening to the "It's CRAZY, but it works" video 👇, was what changed my mind about AI (AGAIN!). It's not about whether it's beneath or even above us. It's a tool, and is it useful, or not? My mind was changed about the author - Jay Shetty - too, who I had never resonated with until that moment. "Jay Shetty explains how to repurpose artificial intelligence as a sophisticated tool for personal growth rather than just a basic productivity aid. He argues that tools like ChatGPT can act as a digital mirror, helping users achieve profound self-awareness by identifying hidden patterns of self-sabotage and emotional triggers. By using specific prompts, individuals can conduct life audits, rehearse difficult conversations, and build accountability systems that bypass the brain’s natural tendency to avoid uncomfortable truths. Shetty emphasises that while AI cannot replace human connection, it offers a judgment-free space to externalise internal thoughts and resolve long-standing psychological conflicts. Ultimately, the source provides a practical framework for using technology to bridge the gap between one's current reality and their authentic self." - My notebook on this (introducing you here to another great AI tool 😉) Please take a look for yourself to assess its suitability for you and your spiritual journey, (if - like me - you have such inclinations!). See also me n Viv, chatting about it on the show this morning...
