Small Habits That Make Home Care Easier
Hello everyone. I’ve been thinking about ways to make home care routines smoother and more enjoyable for both caregivers and clients. One trick I’ve found useful is creating a short daily checklist that balances essential tasks with small moments of connection, like a 5-minute walk outside, listening to a favorite song, or a quick chat over tea. I’d love to hear from you all; - What’s one small routine or habit you’ve added that’s made a big difference in your day to day care? - Any hacks for keeping clients engaged and happy without adding stress for yourself? Let’s share our best tips, I’m sure we can all learn something new

New Research: Preventing Falls
Did you know… 1 in 4 older adults has a fall every year? And falls are the #1 reason for injury-related hospital visits in seniors. The good news → they’re mostly preventable. 🔍 Recent studies show: - A simple home visit with safety tips + exercises reduced falls by almost 25% and cut serious injuries nearly in half. - Still, many people who are “high risk” don’t actually get these prevention programs — often just because of limited resources. 💡 What helps most? - Easy strength + balance exercises - Checking the home for trip hazards (rugs, cords, poor lighting) - Medication reviews and vision checks 👉 Question for you all: What’s ONE thing you do (at home or with clients) to lower the risk of falls? Could be as simple as better shoes or a daily walk. Let’s swap tips so everyone has a few easy ideas to put into practice!
