17 cards came back
11 of those cards were psa 10’s for a total of $2,220.96 as of today. I am using the Collectr app to show what it is currently valued at. The issue with Collectr is that it doesn’t have all of the comps. On top of that it doesn’t have eBay sold listings in there. It isn’t far off on its comps but if I go to the height of the market the comps are between $2,500-$3,000. If I want to move them today I may get 75% at most. If I sit on them for a while and let eBay do its thing I’ll make closer to 90%-100% with patience. Instead I have a show coming up next month and I’ll move a lot of them there. On top of that I have 40+ cards still at PSA that will likely come back before the show. Which means I’ll have an additional $6,000- $9,000 going with me to the show depending on what I get grade wise. This is a 3 day show in Nashville called pokefest so I should be able to move everything fairly quickly between 85%-100%.

Go to shows
If there is a show in your area, don’t even think about it, just go. Everyone working the show has knowledge that you need to grow. Follow them on their channels. Watch what they put out. If you can work a show with them do it. Watch what they do and how they do it. I have a friend that does shows frequently for toys. He now brings Pokemon cards to toy shows because cards are a thriving market. I have learned so much from doing shows with him. He has even had me do shows without him because he was in another state running another show. I am a social butterfly. I like everyone and I am passionate about what I do in life. I love buying and flipping cards! It is so much fun and most of the time you don’t even realize how much money you are making. You don’t have to do a show right away unless you are confident and already a good enough entrepreneur in this realm. It takes a certain mindset to do this type of work. I come from a family of salesmen so it’s second nature for me. You can do this even without all of that, this can be learned. There are amazing YouTube videos for getting started and running shows. The world is at your fingertips!

My mentor
Sounds hard to believe but my mentor made his first million at the age of 16… trading baseball cards It was hard for me to believe but now he has hundreds of millions of dollars so I guess it isn’t that hard to believe. His only advice for cards was “know what you’re looking at and know the value.” That’s it, he didn’t inspire me in the least with that one. I just assumed making a million dollars was complicated but it isn’t, it’s easy. In fact it’s simple but because I came from a poor up bringing I couldn’t hear it at the time. And now that I actually have a system for making a lot of money my nervous system is still having issues adjusting. No, I haven’t made a million dollars yet but now I see the path clearly and am going for it. I learned a lot from my mentor over the years. One thing that still puzzles me today is that he told me that I “should never spend money.” It has taken years to figure out what “never spend money” meant. He was being literal, he only buys investments and those investments pay for everything. The system can be complicated at times but it’s becoming easier and easier.

The future of cards
Our generation will be sitting around the dinner table talking about what we collect and showing off our prized possessions. I believe it was Gary V that said this and I can see it being the case. We enjoy collecting things as a species like dragons on a hoard. A lot of it is super expensive right now. But some of it is seriously cheap for what it’s going to be in 20 years. The cards you own today will be vintage in another 30 years. You’ll be able to retire with what you have today. Something I always tell people is that I collect anime cards because PIKACHU can’t go get drunk one night and ruin his career. Pokemon cards can’t go down because the owners aren’t going to ruin their investment. The billion dollar Pokemon brand will only go up.

I spent WAAAAY too much…
In the beginning I spent $4,000 in 2 days… Now that $4,000 has evolved into over $10,000 It isn’t a get rich quick thing but I will get rich off of it. My mentor made his first million when he was 16 flipping baseball cards. I’m just using his technique and it’s actually working. Who would have thought?!
