šŸš— Trip to Indianapolis Manheim… and a HARD PASS āŒ
We made the drive up to Manheim, Indianapolis, to check out a 2013 Lincoln MKT we were seriously considering for ourselves. We’ve got a truck we’re planning to sell, and this looked like it could’ve been the perfect second vehicle. From the photos… šŸ‘‡It looked GOOD. āœ”ļø Super low mileage āœ”ļø Clean overall condition āœ”ļø Just a dent in the fender āœ”ļø Small tear on an interior door panel Nothing that scared us. But here’s where things changed… The listing showed: šŸ’° MMR (average auction value) was low šŸ’° Buy Now price was $3,500 or make offer šŸ‘‰ That raised a flag for us.Because honestly… why would someone let a vehicle like that go that cheap? Still… we did what we always recommend… šŸ‘‰ We went to see it in person. And the moment we started it… 😳 šŸ’Ø SMOKE. A LOT OF SMOKE. Not a little puff… not something you ignore…This was BAD. We’re talking probable motor issues, the kind that can wipe out your entire deal. šŸ‘‰ We immediately shut it off… and walked away. šŸ’” Here’s what you need to take from this… 1. Looks mean nothing. On paper, this vehicle looked like a steal. In reality… it was a problem waiting to happen. 2. Price tells a story. If something seems too good to be true… there’s usually a reason. 3. Always inspect when possible. Anyone who bought this vehicle sight unseen would’ve been in serious trouble. 4. This is NOT a beginner flip. A bad motor can destroy your budget fast. 5. Be willing to WALK AWAY šŸš¶ā€ā™‚ļøThis is one of the most important skills you’ll ever develop. We drove 2 hours one way to check this car out… And some people would say that’s a waste of time. šŸ‘‰ It’s not. Because what it would’ve cost us to buy that Lincoln without checking it first… šŸ’ø Would’ve been WAY more expensive. Bottom line… Not every deal is a deal. And sometimes the smartest move you can make… šŸ‘‰ is to walk away and keep your money. šŸ’Æ

My First Flip...
Here you go, cleaned up, punchy, and in Dean’s voice šŸ‘‡ šŸ”„ My First Car Flip… and the Deal That Hooked Me I thought it would be helpful to start sharing some of my actual flips with you, and there’s no better place to start than the very first one šŸ‘‡ šŸš— My first attempt… I bought a 2018 Nissan from Copart, low miles, super clean interior, looked like a great deal at first glance But here’s the catch… šŸ‘‰ The passenger side front and rear doors looked like someone had taken a knife and sliced straight down through them Now most people would look at that and thinkā€¦ā€œThere’s no way that should’ve been totaledā€ But here’s what you need to understand šŸ‘‡ When a damaged car goes to a dealership, they assess EVERYTHING it would take to fix it - New doors - Paint - Glass - Labor - Installation - And if the cost to repair is higher than what the insurance company says the car is worth… šŸ’„ They total it That’s exactly what happened here, and that’s how it ended up at Copart… and eventually in my hands Here’s what I did šŸ‘‡ I found a wrecked Nissan with the SAME paint code Bought 2 doors for under $500 šŸ’° Swapped them out And just like that… šŸ”„ I flipped the car and made over $2,000 profit That was it for me… šŸ’” I was hooked And I haven’t stopped flipping since šŸ‘‡ Your turn Have you done your first flip yet? If so… how did it go, and where did you find your deal? Drop it in the comments šŸ‘‡
