She was the example of someone who did everything MDA asked of her. Brain cancer = nanoknife, NSCLC thought her body = 1st generation TKI, 2nd generation TKI, forerunners of Osimernitab (Tagrisso)
Chemotherapy= compliant with MDA.
Died 2 months shy of 5 years. Compliant to the end, fulfilling the statistic of a 3% chance of living 5 years, the same prognosis I received.
I chose a different path. We both believe in God, both have/had the support of a loving spouse and children. I chose the path of becoming a man of science, or rather, it chose me. Barbara chose the path of Mother Theresa to all she met. Faithful Christian through it all- almost childlike in her Faith.
BTW, we have the same diagnosis, S4, NSCLC, EGFR mutation, hers was widely metastasized, at first diagnosis, mine ws oligometastatic, meaning very little metastasis.
