š¦ Could a hidden infection be fueling certain brain tumors?
Groundbreaking immunohistochemical imaging shows Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme disease bacteria) inside tumor cells.
š In the study by Dr. Alan B. MacDonald (2023), Borrelia was found:
- Freely moving in tumor tissue (Fig. 3A)
- Depositing its surface protein (OspA) throughout glioblastoma tissue (Fig. 3B)
- Inside the cytoplasm and even the nuclei of tumor cells (Fig. 3C)
š¬ This was confirmed using monoclonal antibody CB10 and DAB chromogen staining at 400x magnification.
š§¬ If a tumor contains a persistent bacterial infection, then killing that infection might reduce inflammation, free immune suppression, and possibly help shrink the tumor.
