My Witchcraft is highly influenced by neo-animistic thought, so my Sorcery comes from the various pacts and agreements I have with spiritual entities. Whether it is a strong personal relationship with the various herbs and stones, or the bones of our animal allies, or the transactional relationship with a well known spirit from myth or grimoires of days gone passed, these are some very powerful relationships.
I have been a practitioner of Witchcraft since 1989, at the tender age of 7, living in a Christian Nationalist home. And so, learning to get some allies was highly important to me. Building friendships was always difficult for me, mostly because, I spent most of my life grounded (due to Witchcraft). But I tried and tried to reach out through as much Ceremonial workings as I could safety get away with...
To no avail. I was missing some key steps in the sorcerous path. These I eventually unlocked way down the lane. And these were the most important steps...effectively achieving a true ALTERED STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS. While every book talked about it, and I tried every exercise I could to achieve it, I just couldnt reach it. This is not to say that I hadn't been successful in other Magical streams of practice. Literally every spell or ritual I did WORKED, but, being able to side step between the Worlds enough to actually have a subjective interaction with what, I presumed to be, something other-than-human, other-than-self, entity.
It wasnt until I took my first course with The Temple of Witchcraft, that I finally found the means to achieve this goal. His method presented in his book, The Inner Temple of Witchcraft, and the audio that went along with the course, opened the door to achieving ritual as well as deep meditation consciousness. I continued taking courses...
By the time I started the third course of the Mystery School, the Shamanic Temple of Witchcraft, another author put out a book which changed my life and supported what I was learning about Spirits. This author is Robin Artisson, and his book, An Carow Gwyn: Sorcery and the Ancient Fayerie Faith, gave me a stronger grasp on building those relationships I sought as a child.
Since then, I have built very strong, very healthy and reciprocal relationships with Spirits. And this is what I would like to share here. And I am slowly building a course to help others have their own FAYERIE TALE. For, what some call angels and demons, or gods, I call Fayerie, all these terms, in my opinion, are all synonyms for Spirits.
