When approaching setting it's important to get facts right.
if you're writing autobiography, biography, fiction, non fiction where setting is needed in the book it is of course not as important.
Setting can be a background character in your book. If you are using a real city, county, country you need to have a map or know the area very well. People travel and when they go to these places and cities they will remember the story and what happened there
It's another way to connect with your reader. Connections mean return customers.
