How do I start?
Easy answer: at the beginning.
It's not that easy, though.
You have an idea.
You have a fantasy.
You want revenge.
You wanted to date him or her and someone else is.
You have had a traumatic life and want to encourage others.
You are super smart, have a skill or are a doctor, lawyer, engineer and want to tell others and teach others.
You have an obsession with someone historically or current and want to research them and honor them with a book.
So you can write about these things in your book. Think about all the thought you have on your topic. Write them down and research them make it your own. You are not the only person in a world of 8 billion that have these feelings. You already have an audience so write for them, then find them.
