BTC10 (Build A Thinking Child Before Age 10) is a community for parents, homeschool families and educators who want to better understand the thinking habits developing underneath children’s mathematical learning.
Inside BTC10, we explore the small everyday moments many parents and educators notice during math. Moments such as hesitation, overwhelm, dependence on reassurance, difficulty handling unfamiliar questions, or getting stuck once the structure changes.
Not simply from the perspective of grades or more practice.
But from the perspective of how children:
- organise information
- recognise structure
- connect relationships between parts
- respond once they no longer immediately know what to do
Through discussions, reflections and observation-based resources, BTC10 helps parents and educators better understand what these moments may quietly reveal about developing mathematical thinking habits before age 10.
