What's new in Lapin - 30.10.2028
Languages - The interface now comes in six languages: English, Romanian, Spanish, German, French and Danish (Help → language, or the start screen). - The translations are new. Corrections from native speakers who work in architecture or engineering are welcome. - Long tab names no longer push the buttons on the right off the screen. Large IFC files - Choose what comes in. File → Import IFC… first reads the file and lists its elements by discipline (architecture, structure, MEP, furniture, site), by kind and by storey. Untick what you don't need, then choose how to bring it in: recognised as native elements, as references, or linked. - Progress on screen. A bar shows each stage of the import and the time it takes. - Much faster and lighter. - A 1.2 GB Revit export opens in about 30 s instead of 4 minutes, with a third of the memory. - A file of a million identical objects imports in about a minute and turns smoothly in 3D. - Repeated objects share one body, in the model and in the IFC export. Site - A new Site group in the project browser, with a site plan (1:500) and a location plan (1:2000) in every new project: - the whole model seen from above; - a north arrow, a scale bar and the map's coordinate grid; - the parcel's corners numbered, with a Parcel coordinates schedule. - The location plan shows your buildings filled in red and the parcel outlined in red. - An orthophoto is drawn under site plans, and it also prints on sheets and in the PDF. - A DXF map can be imported at its real coordinates. Modelling and drafting - Entrance steps (Architecture → Entrance steps): a porch stair with its own height, solid concrete, starting from one step. - Dimensions stay attached. A dimension that measures walls or grid lines no longer comes off them when you drag it. Only its line moves, square to it. - Moving shows where you're going. Dragging a selected element shows a faded outline at its start, a dashed line, and Δx/Δy and the distance next to the cursor. - Parameters in named property sets. Your own parameters can be grouped into property sets with names. A standard Pset_ set only takes the names the IFC standard gives it.

Lapin - windows cofigurator tutorial video
What's new in Lapin since yesterday
3D views - Sections in 3D: right-click a section in the browser to see the model cut by its plane and depth. The section's fills, annotations (dimensions, level marks, tags, texts) and lines, with their pen weights and dash patterns, are shown on the cut. An elevation turns the camera. - Cut elements read as solids: each cut layer is closed by a cap in its own material. - Section box (View → Section box, BX): - handles on its faces, Fit and Cut at plan; - it can be turned about the vertical, or aligned to the selected element; - saved 3D views keep it; - its cuts can show the section fills and hatches, as on a sheet. - Storeys shown in 3D views (report #29): every storey, the ticked ones, the active one only, or the active one and those below. You can also cut the model 1.20 m above the highest storey shown. - Layers in 3D views: every layer, without finishes, or the cores only. A 3D view has its own discipline and style, like a drawing. - Walk mode: right-click in a plan to walk into a room at eye height (WASD, drag to look, Esc to leave). - Walls, columns, furniture and closed windows stop you. Doors let you through. - You walk up and down stairs and ramps, and fall off edges. - Space jumps; F flies through everything. - Export 3D can export the model as the view shows it: storeys, layers, cuts and hidden elements included. - The project's 3D view is now simply named 3D. A project opens on the ground floor plan, with the 3D in a tab beside it. Working together (new) - File → Share session… shares the open project through an invitation link or code. Guests are editors or viewers. - Join session… from the start screen or the File menu. A link also opens the web version as the host's guest. - Each participant undoes only their own edits. - Participants are shown in the top bar, with their cursors and selections in plan. - The connection is end-to-end encrypted. MEP (new, free) - An open MEP module in the free edition:
