Hi, I'm Kesheen Curtis, Pediatric Registered Nurse, and I know firsthand how mentally demanding the nursing journey can be.
In 2022, I made the difficult decision to step away from my BSN program. At the time, I was overwhelmed, burnt out, and struggling in silence-something many nursing students experience but few feel comfortable admitting. What followed was a 1.5-year gap where I focused on regaining clarity, confidence, and my sense of self outside of school. Instead of giving up on nursing, I chose a different path forward. I returned to school to earn my LPN, became a new graduate nurse, and experienced the realities of patient care, responsibility, and emotional weight firsthand. That experience reshaped how I view nursing-not just as a career, but as a profession that requires real mental and emotional support. Excited to be on this journey with you all!
