Real? 💕
... what is real?
What do you see here?
Some people see an old woman at first glance, others see a young woman. This image is probably one of the most famous images when it comes to optical phenomena.
We don't see with our eyes.
Then what do we see with?
We see with our brain. 🧠 Oh, what does that mean?
Well, the eye is a lens and a projection screen. The image of reality that is projected onto it is actually upside down. Our brain flips the image for us because the image contradicts our experience of up and down.
We don't see what is, but what we think is. Countless filters color our perception of reality.
What do you think about yourself? Which profound assumption would you confirm without hesitation?
Byron Katie has formulated wonderful questions to get to the bottom of things. I like “the work.” To simplify it a bit:
If you think,“I am a perpetual loser.”
Then ask yourself, “Is that really true?”
Then, “How do you know that's true?”
And then, “Could it be different, and if so, how would it be different?”
Don't casually say, “I am...”
I am angry.
I am untalented. You are labeling yourself, putting a stamp on yourself.
Take a step back—also linguistically—and say:
“I feel anger.”—but you are not anger.
“I consider myself untalented.”—but that doesn't have to be true.
Everyone has their own view of the world and their own truth. It's important that we don't believe every thought we have.
I wish you all a wonderful day💞🧠💕
