There is no yours and mine in a marriage. Even with kids.
Two offices exist in the home: Mom and dad
Doesn't matter if your a bio or step. The offices still exist, and its our job to treat it equally throughout the house.
When you said "I do" you also said "I do" to the kids, and you said "I will" to the others kids.
