Listening to the wrong people can hurt you more than help ( Lost years of time doing this)
Niche down can mean more than its explained!

Every marketing person and adviser kept telling me to focus on one Thing! That is such a general sentence and basic statement when they really don"t know how to advise you!
People follow the status quo, say the same thing, follow the same style even when they clearly see that you don't fit in that box. BUT ITS ALL THEY KNOW AND WHAT HAS WORKED FOR THEM.
The problem was no one at that time understood anything about how the business made money and how it flowed. Its was a single minded way...so they kept telling us
to market as a florist, or a event coordinator, or a clothing designer etc. Not understanding that 1 client we saw as 3 or 4 depending on the situation.
They would come for a event then, want napkins & linen's they couldn't find, & could be made cheaper (with better quality) by me, a dress for the event , that i could design and have my people make, if i didnt have time, I could go on. And for years i would loose money listening to advisors who never listened! They just saw a check! So when I tell you I had to Learn to not get Swindled , I HAD TO LEARN!.
So I fired everyone and started learning
• Understanding systems.
• Understanding branding.
• Understanding funding.
• Understanding nonprofit structure.
• Understanding design.
• Understanding reinvention.
• Understanding grief, growth, power dynamics.
And so I speak from experience, not theory.
