Turns out, the BTC supply (21 million) was designed from a geometrical equation.

50 × 210,000 × (1 + ½ + ¼ + …) = 21,000,000

This causes the block reward amounts to elegantly mirror the percentage of the total supply mined during that halving era.

This is some intentional symmetry was built into bitcoin’s issuance schedule from day one.

So cool.
