I get a breakout. A pimple. Maybe a few. I treat it, I leave it alone, I do everything you’re supposed to do. It heals. And then I’m left with a mark. A red, purple, or brown spot that sticks around for weeks sometimes months. By the time it finally fades, another breakout has already happened, and the cycle starts all over again. I’m not 16 anymore. I shouldn’t still be dealing with acne scars that last longer than the actual pimple did.
But here’s the thing: it’s not just about acne. It’s about every little thing. That scratch from the cat. That nick while shaving. That random dry patch that got irritated. Everything heals slower and leaves more of a trace than it used to.
