How old were you when you were born? Part One
I have a question for those of you who believe in the God of the Bible. How old were you when you were born? It seems like a silly question until you consider what the word of God says in the king James version book of Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5. It reads, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” One of the titles of God is Ancient of Days. Simply put this means that because God created time He is older than time, also He is not subject to the effects or limiting parameters of time. The king James book of second Peter chapter 3 verse 8 says, “…one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. This is another way of saying that the presence of God changes the way time behaves. This is confirmed in the king James book of Psalms chapter 90 verse 4 which reads, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past…” In the presence of God it is as if time diverges from its linear nature and the past present and future become simultaneous. Why is this important? As a human soul we possess a mind, we possess free will and we posses emotions. These attributes are housed in our dirt bodies. The interesting thing is that according to the passage in Jeremiah neither of these would be required for God to know us, to ordain us, or too sanctify us. We know this with certainty based on biblical accounts in which things without ears are spoken to and respond. An example of this is the fig tree that heard Jesus in the king James book of Matthew chapter 21 verse 19, it says, And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. If ears are a part of our physical body, we were not born yet, and our mind will and emotions are not required for God to know us then we must consider a spirit body.
