Psalm 139...do you take it for granted?
So this is something I did while sitting in bed, catching up on the sermon I missed on Sunday.
I’ll be honest… I didn’t go to church because I went and made a lampshade instead. And yes, I did feel a bit guilty about that. But it was also an opportunity to do something just for me — something creative, something restful.
And the beautiful thing is, I still showed up.I still watched the sermon.I still opened my Bible.I still spent time with God.
I’ve got this new journal that I want to take to church and collect all my sermon notes in. It feels really special already. Who knows — maybe one day it might even become a book.
What struck me as I was journaling was how gentle God is with us.
He doesn’t sit there with a clipboard.He doesn’t keep score.He doesn’t shame us when we’re tired.
He meets us in bed with our pens and paints. He meets us in messy seasons. He meets us exactly where we are.
And that’s really what this page is about — returning to God gently, not perfectly.
If you’re longing for that same kind of quiet, creative, pressure-free space with Him, I’ve left the Heal & Reset with God link in the comments. It’s a beautiful little January reset if you’d like one.
Sometimes healing doesn’t look like “trying harder”.Sometimes it looks like picking up a pen, opening your Bible, and letting God meet you there.
Big hugs,Bev 🤍
