Your Resume/CV Is Not a Social Profile — Don’t Add Your Picture
If you’re applying in the US, UK, or Canada, your resume should never include your photo.
I’ve noticed many people sending me resumes, and their pictures are included. This is a common mistake, and it can actually hurt your chances.
These are professional markets where hiring decisions are based on experience, skills, and achievements, not appearance. Adding a picture can make your application look unprofessional or introduce bias.
Remember: if they want to see your face, they’ll check your LinkedIn profile.
Your resume is a professional document, not a catalogue or social media profile. Focus on showing value, results, and impact; that’s what gets interviews.
I help professionals ensure their applications are aligned with international standards, formatted correctly, and positioned to stand out.
