For my almost 1-year-old GSP, I had a few questions based on this session:
When she locks up on point and is right on top of the bird, is there any benefit to picking her up and moving her back?
When flushing the birds, am I doing a disservice by walking straight to the bush she’s pointing at and kicking to flush the bird? Should I kick around the area first before going to where the bird is planted?
When flushing the bird, should I avoid kicking it up altogether and instead reach into the bush by hand?
Any other feedback or pointers you can give would be greatly appreciated. I’m always looking to improve my skills and deepen my understanding of the art of bird dog training.
